Rapid-Fire is designed for the student to review study material quickly, repetition across generated tests builds retention of the material. Rapid-Fire is designed to generate random questions from the chapters selected. You may receive duplicates of questions during this test generation procedure.
In the WEB version, how do I get my full 3,000 questions?
Rapid-Fire for the WEB allows a maximum test size of only 50 questions. This is a limitation of web browsers and how much data can be passed from browser to server. Each test that is generated decrements your license counter. When your counter reaches zero then you may purchase another license.
Which product should I buy, the WEB version or the DOS/Windows versions?
This depends upon your needs. Each DOS or Windows version is $49.95 or $59.95 each. These home versions allow for an infinite number of tests to be generated. However, you are limited to generating tests from the databases purchased. On the other hand the WEB version allows the customer access to every question from every database. The choice is personal as to what use the customer will have for the product. If the customer has to have access to many different databases and money is an issue then the WEB version is perfect, if the customer needs only one or two books, plans on generating out many tests and questions, or money is not an issue then individual home versions is probably better.
I have an older copy of Rapid-Fire, how do I install it on my new computer?
There have been a number of different versions of Rapid-Fire over the years. The original installation program for our Rapid-Fire version 4 is not compatible with Windows 95/98/NT. To install under 95 or 98 you may RESTART your computer in MS-DOS mode. This should allow the INSTALL program to work. Otherwise, you may opt to send in your diskette for upgrading. This upgrade is free, but requires a $5 handling charge. You may also choose to upgrade to the new Windows version of Rapid-Fire, available soon.
I am trying to install an older copy of Rapid-Fire and it is asking me for a keycode.
The original version of Rapid-Fire that we shipped had a copy protection scheme that required that you call us when re-installing the program. Please be at your computer and call us with the three sets of numbers. We will provide you with a response number to re-install your Rapid-Fire.
Is this all the databases that you have available?
Every database that we have ever done and will ever do is on our web site and available to our WEB version customers.
Do you plan on doing a database for book XXXXXX?
The answer to this question is simple. We do what the market requests. We rely upon our dealers and customers to tell us what is selling and what they want. We will produce any database that makes business sense to do. Each database takes months to prepare so we must have the market support.
In the WEB version, how can I not repeat questions?
The best way to get the most unique number of questions is to select single chapters, choose to generate tests of the maximum size, (50 in the WEB, 100 for the home versions). This wil assure you the most unique number of questions.
What is the difference between the Student versions and the Trainers version?
The Trainers version allows the trainer to view the entire database, choose individual questions for tests, add, modify, and delete questions. The student versions rely upon the computer to generate tests questions randomly from the desired chapters.
I recently ordered the RF4 Building construction (Brannigans). The database only has 1000 questions. I was under the impression that there were going to be 3k in the database. I can't see spending the extra money when I could have gotten the same off of the Web for 19.95. Did I get the wrong disk?
You received the correct package. We sell two distinct student packages. The WEB version is either a 1,000 or 3,000 question license. You may generate tests from any of the databases that we have online, each database is about 1,000 questions. Each question generated decrements the counter until it reaches zero. Once zero has been reached you would have to repurchase for additional questions. The DOS version is sold as individual databases. From your home computer you may generate out as many tests as you like. You are not limited to any amount of questions generated. The database of questions is typically about 1,000.
